A child of German immigrants, Lyn Baier is no stranger to struggle. At birth, her ankle didn’t bend, her kneecap was flat, and her right leg was six inches from the ground. On her 17th birthday, she made the difficult decision to have her leg amputated. The providers and community made her excited and ready to enter adulthood, leading her to get two master’s degrees. She credits Gillette for the way her treatment transformed her life.
“Gillette played a big role in helping me physically, but more importantly, Gillette played a huge role in my becoming a happy, responsible, confident person.”
